Disney’s Pop Century Resort – Refurbished

I got my first view of the refurbished Pop Century Resort during the last week of March 2018. It was my first stay at a Disney Value Resort and I walked away impressed with the new rooms and the resort! No matter your age, the refurbished Pop Century Resort has something to make everyone smile.
My family found refurbished Pop Century Resort fun and inviting as soon as we drove up. A cast member greeted us and told us we could park on the curb while we checked in. Luggage service was available outside to the right of the lobby. The lobby is decorated with childhood memorabilia from the 1950s through the 1990s. My teenagers went exploring all the cases of toys while we checked in.
We stayed in a room in the 1960s section of the refurbished Pop Century. The room was bright, with wood floors, sliding bathroom doors and a large TV. Mickey and Pluto were both decorating our room. The second bed could be pulled down by easily collapsing the table in the room The queen beds and bedding were very comfortable. The bathroom was fresh and modern with a separate toilet/shower and sink area. It would appear though Disney has gone to large bottles of soap, shampoo and conditioner instead of the little bottles. We did not have lotion either.
The Refurbished Pop Century Resort has 3 pools, but as of the last week of March the 1950’s Bowling Pool was still under renovation. We found the Hippy Dippy Pool by our room in the 1960s to be large, warm with plenty of seating. This pool was full of teenagers, which is a great selling point if you have teens, unlike other Disney Resorts we have stayed at. My boys were very happy to have kids their own age to interact with. There is also Petals Pool Bar for cocktails!
Dining and Shopping
There are plenty of quick service options at Everything Pop Shopping and Dining. From pizza, pasta, sandwiches and home cooked dining. Plus if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, this is where you get your refillable cup!
Having stayed at multiple Disney Resorts over the years, I would recommend Pop Century to families with kids of all ages. As a Royal Treatment Travel agent, I can help you plan a trip to WDW and stay at Pop Century.
My family and I love to travel. We have been fortunate enough to live in 10 different states and Europe in our journey together over the last 27 years. From the rivers of Alaska, to the castles of Germany and the surf of Hawaii, we have gotten to experience a great deal with every move. On of that, we are Disney and Universal fanatics! I can use my experience to help your family with any travel arrangements, from the perfect resort, daily itineraries and ticketing options.
