Universal Orlando Resort has 2 theme parks – Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida. There is also Universal’s Volcano Bay which is a water theme park. Many people only associate thrill rides with the Universal Orlando theme parks. It is true that they have a lot of thrilling rides and attractions… but what happens if you are not a thrill seeker by any stretch of the imagination? Those who are not quite into the thrills will be happy to know that there is plenty to keep you entertained during your visit! Here is a list of 6 awesome things to do if you are not a thrill seeker.
Shopping
Whether you like to shop til you drop or prefer to just browse, Universal Orlando has plenty of stores to keep you happy! The Universal Studios Store is always fun to browse. Of course, the stores in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter are very cool and immersive. Honeydukes is a must-do for anyone with a sweet tooth! The Tribute Store is also an entertaining shop to check out. This is an immersive and highly-themed retail area with theming that changes throughout the year!
Photo Ops
The attractions at Universal Orlando are based on some of the most popular movies and franchises. What type of place would this be without great photo ops? The parks do not disappoint in this department! There are even real movie props scattered around the park such as the Knight Bus or many of the vehicles found in Fast & Furious – Supercharged.
Food
Whether you want to grab a butterbeer or have a full meal, there are plenty of options!
Special Events and Tours
Halloween Horror Nights may be a great choice for anyone who does not like thrill rides. This separately ticketed event is held select nights during spooky season. Select rides and attractions are open during this event. The main star of during this event are the various haunted houses. If you prefer to be scared instead of thrilled, this may be more your speed!
There are other tours held during the year, including The Holiday Tour. These would be a perfect option as well.
Queue Lines
The Universal Orlando theme parks are very immersive – and this carries over to the queue lines! Instead of separating from the rest of your group, stick with them and enjoy the experience. If you still don’t want to ride, you can wait for the group in the Family/Waiting Room which exists at many rides and attractions.

Not all thrill rides are created equal. This goes for the rides and attractions at the Universal Orlando theme parks. Some are less thrilling than others. In fact, there may be some rides that you can handle even if thrill rides are not your thing.
