Disney World Baby Care Centers
Going to Disney with children is the best- I love seeing the faces of kids who are seeing the Magic for the very first time. But some days, when kids have been awake since 6am to make that early morning character dining reservation, been pushed through the parks to see their favorite characters and waited in the heat to ride Dumbo - you are bound to see one or two melt-downs, even the good-nature kids. There is a light at the end of the Disney Tunnel: Baby Care Centers.
Locations
There is one baby care center in each of the Disney parks. When I first found out about them, I thought they would just be a glorified bathrooms. Boy, was I wrong! It's the perfect place to slow down. When you enter, you are cheerfully greeted by an amazing cast member and relief from the heat will wash over you. They have everything you need to re energize. The rooms are bright and spacious, and perfect to unwind away from the crowds.
Magic Kingdom - Located between The Crystal Palace and Casey's Corner
Epcot - Located in the Odyssey Center, between Test Track and Mexico
Hollywood Studios - Located to the left of Crossroads of the World as you enter the park
Animal Kingdom - Located on Discovery Island at Creature Comforts
Items Available for Purchase
If you forgot to bring something with you, the Baby Care Center has many items available for purchase. Diapers, baby food, infant and children's medications, binkies, clothes, etc. Diapers run about $8.95 for a small pack. It is a relief to know there is somewhere to go when the parent panic sets in!
Amenities
Private bathrooms are available and also an impressive room with changing tables. They are a definite improvement from the plastic public bathroom changing tables. Each Baby Care Center has a stocked kitchen where you can warm food and bottles, find free utensils and each center features complementary feeding areas with high chairs. Each Baby Care Center also has a nursing mother's room. It is a peaceful room lined with rocking recliners. The one at the end of Main Street in the Magic Kingdom is decorated with Victorian pictures and décor that is reminiscent of Main Street USA. There is no cost to use the rooms or time limit. You stay as long as you need. Sometimes we parents need a time out just as much as the kids.
