My Top 3 Favorite Walt Disney World Character Meals

More character meals will be making their return to Walt Disney World Resort in the very near future. Guests will once again be able to enjoy breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at ‘Ohana beginning on September 27.  Winnie the Pooh and Friends will be returning for lunch and dinner at The Crystal Palace on September 20.  And last, but not least, Minnie and Friends will be appearing at the Cape May Café for breakfast beginning on October 4!  One of my most treasured memories of traveling with my kids to Walt Disney World Resort vacations are our character meals.  These announcements made me think about my favorite experiences.  So, without further ado, here are my Top 3 favorite Walt Disney World Resort character meals of all time!

3rd Favorite: 1900 Park Fare

This character dinner had it all - a beautiful dining room, great food, and amazing character interactions. I would actually go on record and say that this dinner may have had the best character interactions out of all the character meals! I loved the interactions between Cinderella and her step-sisters. All of the characters were truly comical but I especially love the memory of when Lady Tremaine waltzed with my youngest!

2nd Favorite: 'Ohana

'Ohana has always been a favorite for my family. Both of my kids love the movie Lilo and Stitch and always loved being able to meet their favorite characters. I also loved the fact that food was served family-style instead of a buffet. And the Ohana Breakfast Parade was simply the cutest thing I've ever seen! This character meal made my list because my whole family always has a great time here.

1st Favorite: The Crystal Palace

Before anyone can understand why I treasure this memory so much, I need to set the stage.  My husband and I had taken our first born to Walt Disney World before my daughter was born.  Both kids were around the same age for their first visits.  Who would have thought that they would have had such different reactions? I know I certainly did not expect it!

I may have been a bit too excited for my daughter’s first visit and may have booked a few too many character meals.  To my defense though, my son had loved the characters during his first visit and we were expecting the same type of reaction from my daughter.  I was traveling with two little kids and was prepared for anything that could have come our way – except my daughter’s reaction.  I could describe it, but the photo does is much more justice.  Just imagine a bunch of crying and screaming…

I was admittedly a bit nervous about the rest of the week since I had booked so many character meals.  The next morning, we had a breakfast reservation at The Crystal Palace.  My daughter was apprehensive once again of the characters, but then something wonderful happened.  Tigger spent a lot of time playing with her and after 10 minutes or so, she totally warmed up to not only him, but the rest of the characters too!  It was amazing to watch and a memory that will stick with me forever. If someone had told me the day before that this child would happily eat next to Winnie the Pooh the following day, I would have not believed them!
