Tron Lightcycle Run coming to Walt Disney World
TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster is currently under construction in the Tomorrowland section of Magic Kingdom. It is located next to Space Mountain and Tomorrowland Speedway. This new attraction will place guests on their own "Tron" light cycle and will make attendees feel like they're traveling through the popular movie's virtual reality grid, on a thrilling race through technology. The seat design, just unveiled, looks similar to a single-rider motorcycle.
Tron Lightcycle Run in Shanghai
The ride will be a close replica to the “Tron Lightcycle Power Run” attraction that opened in the Shanghai Disneyland park in June 2016. It’s one of the most popular rides at this Disney destination.
The coaster launches guests from zero to 60 miles per hour in a matter of seconds, sending them through over 3,000 feet of track surrounded by technologically advanced lighting packages and video elements.
After two years in construction so far, the last piece of the ride track was just installed and the building phase is moving along on schedule! Disney is saying that the TRON Lightcycle Run coaster will be open in time for the Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary in 2021.
