Recently I had the opportunity to stay at the new Sandals Dunn's River in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. This resort is stunning with turquoise waters, days filled with activities, water sports and a rotating schedule of exciting night life. Though these are reasons enough to visit this property, the 12 specialty restaurants that deliver top quality and creative dining experiences are a foodie's dream!

With so many dining options Sandals Dunn’s River encourages you to try a progressive meal, enjoying appetizers at one restaurant, followed by dinner and dessert at another. Dining at this resort is the complete package from the incredible themed decor, personalized service and dishes served.

Here are my top five dishes you won't want to miss during your stay!

Number 5: Rigatoni and Beef Brisket Ragú at Cascata

Cascata is serving up your Italian favorites and an extensive wine list. For a savory entree I would recommend the Rigatoni and Beef Brisket Ragú, featuring melt in your mouth brisket and a rich red wine-beef sauce.

Number 4: Aegean Slow Braised Prime Beef at Edessa

This tender beef tenderloin is beautifully accompanied by sundried tomatoes, olives, mushrooms, root vegetables and a red wine sauce plated with potato purée. Find this signature dish at the elegant Greek inspired restaurant Edessa.

Number 3: Banana Spring Roll at Banyu

The eclectic Asian Fusion restaurant Banyu is home to my favorite dessert at Sandals Dunns River. Though I prefer savory over sweet, the Banana Spring Roll is a dessert I would fly back to this resort for! Served hot, this crispy spring roll is best paired with a side of vanilla ice cream.

Number 2: Tajín Ahi Tuna at Zuka

With inspiration from Central and South America, Zuka's vibrant decor matches the flavors found in each course. The Tajín Ahi Tuna appetizer served on a tostada with tomato, onion, lime, cilantro and avocado is fresh, spicy and the perfect starter before indulging in their popular Surf and Turf Parrillada.

Number 1: Sushi and Sashimi at Hanami

After sampling the traditional sushi rolls, crispy rice spicy tuna starter and sashimi at Hanami, it's impossible to select my favorite. Each dish was fresh, prepared beautifully and full of flavor. We enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar where the chef surprised us with a "special roll". If you are adventurous I would recommend letting the chef here prepare you something special as well!

Honorable Mention: Jerk Chicken at The Jerk Shack
