Exploring Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: A Family Adventure in Mexico
Our family just returned from a delightful trip to Mexico, marking our first experience with an all-inclusive resort for the kids. We stayed at the Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo and had an absolutely fantastic time! Here’s a glimpse into our adventure and why we’d recommend this resort for families.
A Home Away from Home: Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo
We were a group of ten, occupying three rooms for a five-night stay at the Lindo. Overall, our stay cost us under the average price of a family focused all-inclusive resort in Mexico. I requested all three rooms in building 53, central to both the beach and the pool. We got two rooms in building 53 and the third next door in 54. All three rooms had recently been renovated.
The Iberostar Paraiso Complex is a sprawling paradise, home to four resorts: the adults-only Grand, the spacious Maya, the family-friendly Lindo, and the charming Beach and Del Mar resorts. Guests at the Grand can access all four resorts, while Maya guests can explore all except the Grand. Lindo guests can enjoy the amenities at Beach and Del Mar, and so on. The water parks are shared between Maya and Lindo, so you must stay at one of these to access them.
Highlights of Our Stay
Waterpark: The waterpark features seven slides open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. There's also a kiddie park with smaller slides and play features for the little ones.
Wave Pool: Although not very deep, the wave pool was a hit with the kids. It operates for the first 20 minutes of every hour and offers plenty of fun.
Lazy River: Floating down the lazy river as a family was one of our favorite activities. We made sure to enjoy it at least once every day, and there were plenty of floats available.
Activities: The resort has an app listing the daily activities calendar. Our kids loved picking out activities like ping pong, darts tournaments, bingo, volleyball, and more. The entertainment staff was fantastic, always ensuring there was something fun happening.
Dining: The Italian and hibachi restaurants were our favorites, offering delicious meals that stood out. While the buffet options were plentiful, they weren’t my favorite, but I'm quite picky. However, every restaurant we tried offered a great dining experience, and room service options were available as well.
Star Camp: Where Family Fun Reigns
At the heart of any family-friendly adventure is a renowned children’s activity program. At Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo this is known as Star Camp. Designed to captivate young hearts and minds, Star Camp offers a variety of engaging activities tailored to different age groups. From mastering the mini-chef kitchen to tackling our thrilling multi-adventure course, exploring video games, and discovering eco-friendly practices in Starky’s garden with puppet and recycling workshops—there’s excitement for every child.
The Beauty of the Grounds
The resort's grounds are breathtaking, nestled in the middle of the jungle with lush mangroves and vibrant wildlife. We spotted peacocks, flamingos, monkeys, coatis, and other animals roaming the property. The staff was exceptional, always ready to assist with a smile. The pools were extensive, and it seemed like there were several to choose from, adding to the resort's charm.
Final Thoughts
For families on a budget, the Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo is a gem. It offers a great balance of fun, relaxation, and value for money. While it may not be the best fit for those seeking a high-end luxury experience, it provides a beautiful and enjoyable setting for a family vacation. The beach was lovely on some days, though it did have some seaweed on others. Despite being particular about food, I found the restaurant options delightful.
