Resort Split Stay at Walt Disney World

Resort Split Stay

You are going to Walt Disney World with your family, but there are over 25 amazing resorts on property to choose from. Plus, each resort has its own unique theme and category level (Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Villas). How do you pick just one? Well, you don’t have to!  A Resort Split Stay lets you sample multiple resorts in one vacation and Disney makes it easy!

1. First, there are a few things to know when planning a resort split stay at Disney World.

  • Two Reservations: You’ll have to make two separate reservations at the different resorts, with one or both being a vacation package including tickets and the dining plan. This can get a little tricky determining which configuration works best with your budget. Most people attach park admission tickets to the first reservation, along with a dining plan to both reservations. Money-saving promotion scan also be applied to both reservations if available.

  • Two Sets of MagicBands: Disney provides resort guests with MagicBands for each resort reservation. So,you’ll be shipped two sets of MagicBands. You can either keep both sets with customized colors, orchoose to cancel one set, keeping the other ‘active’ in the system. Active MagicBands will automaticallyhave your vacation reservations linked to them, even if you have multiple sets. MagicBands can bemanaged through you My Disney Experience account.

  • Two Final Payment Dates: Since you will have two resort reservations, you will also have two finalpayment due dates at 30 days before your arrival. Two Advanced Dining Reservation and Fastpass Selection Dates: Depending on how your reservationsare configured, you may have to plan for different dates allowing you to book your dining reservations(180 day before check-in) and Fastpasses (60 days before your check-in).Magical Express: Resort guests will still be able to use the Magical Express, even during a resort split-stay. However, you’ll want to notify the Magical Express services of your plans for an arrival at oneresort, and a pick up for departure at a different one.
