Review: Standard View - Atrium Club Level Room At Disney’s Contemporary Resort

My family and I recently stayed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  If I am being completely honest, we did not think that we were going to like it that much.  Boy were we wrong!  After our stay, it quickly became our new favorite resort.  Here’s my review of this amazing room at this awesome Deluxe Resort!

During our recent stay, we called the Standard View- Atrium Club Level room home.  These rooms are located on the 12th floor.  In fact, guests cannot access this floor unless they are staying in a Club Level room category!

Once we arrived at the resort, a Cast Member escorted us up to the 12th floor.  Here we met the Concierge staff and they showed us the club lounge.  They also showed us where our room was located on the floor.  Since we had an early morning full of travel, and it was now mid-afternoon, the kids were starving.  We left our luggage in the room and set out to have a few snacks in the Atrium Club lounge!  This was actually a favorite place for my family to hang out, especially in the evenings.  At night, the music for Magic Kingdom Park’s nighttime entertainment is piped into the lounge and you have a great view from the balcony.  It was like having our very own private dessert party!

After our snacks, we headed back to our room to unpack and settle in.  These rooms were amazing!  They are newly renovated and are themed after The Incredibles.  There was so much space to spread out.  The room had 2 queen beds and a day bed.  In fact, the day bed section may have been my favorite part of the entire room!  When it wasn’t being used as a day bed, it converted into a sofa.  The best part of the sofa was the table that was placed in front of it.  We like to sometimes eat a quick meal or snack in our room and the sofa and table made that super easy to do!

The room also had a side table and chair as well as a nightstand.  There was plenty of room under the bed to store luggage.  There was one closet with hangers and a second with shelving.  Between the two, there was plenty of storage space for my family of four! The room also had a Keurig with pods, an ice bucket, and a beverage cooler.

One of the most important things for me when traveling with my kids is the bathroom situation.  Our room had a beautiful walk-in shower; however, some have tubs.  To say that the shower was huge is an understatement.  The shower in our room may have been my favorite shower on vacation ever!  Have you ever had to help your younger children wash their hair and you get completely drenched during the process?  This shower was designed so that this does not happen!  It truly was a game changer.

Due to the way Disney’s Contemporary Resort is situated, rooms within the Main Tower will either have a view of Bay Lake or of Magic Kingdom Park.  Since we booked a Standard View – Atrium Club Level room category, our room had a view of the lake.  However, just beyond the lake we could see EPCOT!  We even were able to watch part of Harmonious from our balcony.  This was fun because we could watch Disney Enchantment from the lounge and then see more fireworks from our room!  We also had a great view of the Electrical Water Pageant each night.

One of the best parts of staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the fact that it is located so close to Magic Kingdom Park.  Staying here made it so convenient when visiting that park.  There is a walking patch that connects the resort with the entrance to the park.  We also did not have to go through security with the rest of the crowd since there is a security check point along the path.  After our stay, my whole family agreed that we had a wonderful time here and would love to stay again in the future!
