Review: Very Merrytime Sailing On Disney Fantasy

This past Christmas, my family and I experienced cruising during the holidays aboard the Disney Fantasy for a Very Merry Celebration!!! We boarded the ship on Christmas Eve, and wow— What a celebration it was!! Captain Mickey was the first to greet us with Christmas and Hanukkah decorations throughout the ship!

For our sailing, we stayed in an Oceanview Room on Deck 2! It was a perfect midship location convenient to the shops and restaurants on Decks 2 and 3. I was able to preorder a Christmas Tree to have in our stateroom and our Elves somehow even sent decorations!!

The Tree Lighting Ceremony took place on our first night, and it was one of the most magical tree lightings I have ever seen. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto took to the stage and we all caroled different holiday songs, and then we counted down to light the tree!! Ohh– and did I mention there were cookies and hot chocolate to enjoy to your heart’s content???

On Christmas morning, which was a day at sea, there was an unwritten rule that everyone was to wear their Christmas jammies! So many guests had their matching family pajamas and got to take pictures with none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus!! There was a huge display of various types of cookies and again– hot chocolate! They had just finished a very busy work night and were able to enjoy the rest of their vacation aboard ship! All the princesses were out as well during the day so it was so nice to be able to meet and greet with them. The evening was the first optional formal night with a traditional holiday dinner.

Of course, there were port days at Tortola, Saint Thomas, and Disney Castaway Cay! The weather was perfect, snorkeling was fantastic, and overall a very much needed Christmas vacation!! The whole cruise was so well themed and every element to make the holiday special was included, and it is definitely worth the trip!! If you are thinking of taking a holiday cruise, this is not one to be missed!!
