Disney World and Florida Beaches Right Now
Like many American families, we rescheduled our original vacation plans multiple times due to COVID-19, but we still wanted to experience a safe family Summer vacation. Are you asking what it is like visiting Disney World and Florida Beaches Right Now?
Cue a 2-week road trip experience sprinkled with a touch of pixie dust!
Our family took an adventurous road trip from Texas to Florida to get a front row seat to sandy beaches and the most magical place on earth.
Curious what it’s like to visit Disney World and Florida beaches during a pandemic? Keep reading!
Heavenly family-friendly beaches
For the first week we explored the most beautiful and safest beaches on the West Coast of Florida. I am happy to report that it is still possible to go on vacation and social distance. I highly recommend 30A beaches for gorgeous water and Siesta Key for a fabulous family-oriented beach. The sand in Siesta Key stays cool to the touch, the water is clear. Also, they have parks, wonderful amenities, and a long stretch of beach to facilitate social distancing. Our planning experience can facilitate finding the perfect
resort in the area for your family and making vacation planning a fun, stress free experience!
Disney World’s operations have changed, but the magic still remains
Walt Disney World was amazing for so many reasons.
Was it a different experience than normal? Yes, but not in a bad way.
If you are a fan of low crowds and having space between you and another group, then this is your time to shine! Social distancing is maintained and enforced.
During the summer, our family has visited a few resorts and amusement parks. Walt Disney World’s safety measures are top-notch and unlike anything I have witnessed thus far.
Enhanced health and safety measures at Disney World include:
Park Reservations to reduce attendance.
Plexiglass walls installed in ride queues.
Hand washing stations, and hand sanitizer available at every turn.
An enforced mask requirement.
Spot markers in every ride, restaurant, and store.
Park guests’ temperatures are taken with a touch less system upon entry to each park.
Reduced contact procedures including accepting electronic payment at many Disney establishments.
My Disney Experience App – allows mobile ordering for dining, scannable codes for restaurant menus and online check-in for Disney resorts.
What else has changed at Disney World?
Fireworks and normal Disney parades have been suspended for the time being; However, guests can experience the Disney MAGIC with the motorcades, cavalcades and boat parades seen throughout each park throughout the day!
Characters can also be spotted in terraces waving and interacting with guests! There are also two-character dining experiences available still with Mickey and other favorite Disney characters standing at a safe distance for meet and greets and photo ops at Topolino’s Terrace in the NEW Riviera Resort and in Garden Grill in Epcot.
No park hopping.
The amount of cleaning and sanitizing! I observed cast members constantly cleaning and sanitizing high touch surfaces at the resorts and parks. Rides are stopped and disinfected every 2 hours as well. cast members don masks and face shields for their safety and ours.
Places to Stay at Disney World
Our family stayed at The Beach Club and Copper Creek Villas. Both resorts were absolutely impeccable and took the utmost care in cleaning and sanitation. The resort was very impressive in every single aspect.
We chose those two Deluxe resorts because of the proximity to our favorite parks and the incredible amenities they offer. The Beach and Yacht Club share Stormalong Bay, a massive sand-bottom pool with tons of features for kids of any age!
Selecting a resort can be overwhelming to newcomers, but a professional like myself, will assess your family’s needs and preferences, and budget to help you select the best resort for your travel party.
The most obvious reason to stay on Walt Disney World property is the proximity to the parks, but there is so much more! There is no need to rent a vehicle when you stay on The Walt Disney World Resort property. The Monorail, buses, and small boats will deliver you to your park of choice, and the Disney’s Magical Express will provide complimentary transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport. By staying
on Disney property, you get to experience the magic at all times, with spectacular pools, themed rooms, grand lobbies, amazing dining options, exciting gift shops, and most importantly, the amazing Disney Cast Members taking care of your every need.
Memories to treasure
We had an amazing time, slowing down and savoring every experience the parks have to offer instead of trying to park hop from park to park. The kids loved being able to walk onto rides without having to wait a long time for their turn, and I loved having ample space to enjoy the sights and being with my family.
Some of our favorite experiences from this trip were Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Star Wars Rise of the Resistance. We re-lived our childhood memories by riding Splash Mountain which will soon be re-imagined into a better experience.
Planning a Trip to Disney World
At the time of publication, all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs are now open. Park attendance is managed via the Disney Park Pass reservation system—to enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date are required for Guests ages 2 and up.
If you are on the fence about traveling, I recommend doing your own research and/or hiring a travel professional like myself to guide you. Families should consider making a decision based on their own family’s personal risk favors. There is a n inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.
When you are ready to travel, we would love to help you plan your next magical vacation!
